Following the minute face-off that happened at OSCAR 2022 where Smith had smacked Rock in the face on national television that has got everyone talking, I have seen a lot of argument about who is right and who was wrong.
Well, I’m not here to take sides. I’m just here to say that first off, you don’t make a joke you know is going to sound off as a subtle shade to anybody, not privately, nor publicly for that matter.
Rock would not stand in front of national television and blow everyone’s spark off by shaming Jada, directly or indirectly while Smith, who everyone knows is obviously smitten by Jada take it in good strides.
Not to say Will Smith could go ahead and smack anybody on air, because candidly, you would have allowed Jada speak for herself.
You can’t be everyone’s messiah. Sometimes, you need to allow people fight their own battles and stand up for themselves.
If at all, the best case scenario wasn’t to hit Chris. This is something he could have told him backstage or even just tell him from across his seat to stop throwing shades at Jada, albeit jokingly and while maintaining his stance.
One amazing take home from all of this is how Chris Rock took it all in good strides. I mean, it could have turned out messy if everyone carried the same air around like Smith.
But oh well! Chris Rock should never call out anyone with alopecia, subtly or directly.
This could be a case of who wasn’t terribly wrong, because both parties were definitely not right.
Except Jada, of course, whose comment or on whose side she’s on we know not.
