We all know that for every successful movie, the director must have done a remarkable job. However, the cast of many movies also contributed massively to their success. This is because the cast displays a perfect picture of a story to meet the audience’s expectations and amusement.
The narration at the beginning of “Anikulapo” was epic with Yoruba as smooth as silk. We definitely owe that to Ifayemi Elebuibon.
Apart from that, the talented and incredible Kunle Afolayan, director of “Anikulapo”, starred an array of exceptional cast, and their parts added so much to the beauty of the movie.
Here we present to you the outstanding cast in the movie, “Anikulapo”.

1. Saro – Oyekunle Opeyemi Oluwaremi

Oyekunle Opeyemi Oluwaremi, often addressed as Kunle Remi or KR, is an outstanding Nigerian Tv Host, model, entertainer and actor. He was born on the 18th of October 1988 in Gboko, Benue State, Nigeria.
Kunle Remi attended the University of Ibadan, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in fisheries and wildlife management. He had his second degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management at Sheffield University. To pursue a career of his dream, acting, Kunle Remi proceeded to New York Film Academy, Los Angeles, where he was successfully certified as a proficient actor in 2014.
Over time, we have seen Kunle Remi acting in Nollywood English movies, but to a huge surprise, we find him in this buzzing Yoruba Movie :”Anikulapo”. He played the role of the major and leading character in the movie who is called Saro, the weaver, who left his hometown even since he was 6 years old to pay off his parent’s debt. Saro became a wanderer that hit wealth on his arrival to Oyo. The covetous, proud and womanising human got a second chance at life but missed it.
Saro was also named “Anikulapo” by the people of Ojumo because he had the mysterious power of giving life back to the dead.

2. Queen Arolake – Bimbo Ademoye

Bimbo Ademoye is an award-winning Nigerian actress who began her movie career in 2014 when she appeared in a movie titled Where Talent Lies. She was born on the 4th of February, 1991 in Lagos State. She holds a bachelor’s Degree In Business Administration, which she earned from Covenant University.
Bimbo Ademoye played the character of Queen Arolake, the youngest and the barren wife of Alaafin Ademuyiwa. Her hand was given in marriage to the king when she was 15 years old, which has been her greatest sorrow.
“When a woman loves you, she will do anything to be with you,” Queen Arolake, a cheat, gave a perfect picture of this. She had a secret love affair with Saro, afterall she got the happiness she was seeking in him. When this secret affair was known to King and the public, she eloped with him and became his wife. In the end, she left Saro due to her barrenness and the humiliation she got from Saro’s other wives.
3. Awarun – Sola Sobowale

Sola Sobowale came to the spotlight in 2001 after acting in a Popular Nigerian TV Drama Super story Series titled Oh Father, Oh Daughter. She was born on the 26th of December 1963 in Ondo State, Nigeria.
We met Sola Sobowale, an old unmarried woman Awarun, who controls a ceramic workshop. She was the one who welcomed and accommodated Saro when he got to Oyo and helped him in this weaving business. Awarun is more sexually attractive to young men like Saro hence the sugar mummy everyone wants. She provided support to Saro fully but he wanted more than he could chew.
4. Alaafin Ademuyiwa -Taiwo Hassan

Taiwo Hassan famously addressed as Oga Ogogo, is an award-winning Nigerian actor, movie director, and producer. He started his acting career in 1981 when he started working as a mechanic in a water cooperation. In 1994, he quit his work as a mechanic to focus on his acting ambition.
Taiwo Hassan played the major role of a King of Oyo, who is known as Alaafin Ademuyiwa, the husband of four queens and also a pedophile. He married Queen Arolake when she was just 15 years of age.
This King was the beginning of Arolake’s misery but somehow he found joy in her. He made Arolake his favourite of the queens.

5. King Aderoju – Hakeem Kae-Kazim

Hakeem Kae-Kazim was born on the 1st of October, 1962 in Lagos, Nigeria. However, he spent most of his life in London, England. This makes him a British- Nigerian actor, and he acts in British movies as well as Nigerian movies in which “Anikulapo” is a part.
Hakeem Kae-Kazim was Oba Aderoju of Ojumo. It was forbidden for this King to speak in public except with his mouthpiece.
Maybe not forbidden but there were rumors as to why he couldn’t speak. People said he exchanged it for powers, others said he stopped talking because his father was killed gruelling at war.
Ojumo is a subordinate kingdom in the movie, where Saro and Queen Arolake spent the rest of their lives after eloping. King Aderoju gladly accommodated them to the kingdom because of the power to raise the dead Saro possessed – their Anikulapo (one who has death in his pocket).
6. Princess Omowunmi- Eyiyemi Afoloyan

Like father like daughter. Beautiful Eyiyemi Afoloyan is the third daughter of the movie director, Kunle Afoloyan. She is 15 years old, born on the 11th of September, 2007.
We also met this amazing young girl in Anikulopa. She acted as one of Alaafin Ademuyiwa’s daughters, Princess Omowunmi. Out of all princesses in the palace, Omowunmi is the closest to Queen Arolake, and it was through her that the secret affair between the Queen and Saro was revealed.
Princess Omowunmi considered Saro handsome when she met him and had a hidden affection for him. This triggered anger in her when she found out about Queen Arolake’s affair with Saro and uncovered their hiding secret. Yes, we also noticed that Omowunmi had a glitch in her Yoruba.
7. Akanji – Adebowale Adebayo

Adebowale Adebayo is famously Known as Mr Macaroni. He is an outstanding Nigerian Comedian, actor, and content creator. He was born on the 3rd of May, 1993.
Mr Macaroni played the role of Akanji, a citizen of Oyo. This was his character, and through him more information about Awarun’s immoral acts was known.
Akanji tried to be a friend to Saro, but Saro was careless about him, even when he revealed Awarun’s immoral acts she did to young men like Saro.
8. Ojumo Queen- Faithia Balogun

The Award-winning Nollywood actress Faithia Balogun played the character of King Aderoju of Ojumo’s Queen. She appeared as one of the minor cast in the play but yet, her actions can never be underrated.
Faithia Balogun, now known as Faithia Williams, was born on the 5th of February, 1951 in Ikeja, Lagos State. She became an actress by chance because she was asked to replace a missing cast by one of her uncles, a movie producer, in 2005. Later in 2016, she studied Film Production at Olabisi Onabanjo University.
9. Ashun Oba – Ropo Ewenla

While it is forbidden for King Aderoju of Ojumo to speak in public for unrevealed reasons, Ropo Ewenla acted as the king’s mouthpiece, who said everything on behalf of the king. He was the one who invited Saro to the king’s Palace when the rumour about his magic got to him.
Ropo Ewenla is a Nigerian with many accomplishments. He is a voice-over artist, writer, director, and actor who started acting about 7 years ago.
10. Queen- Aisha Lawal Oladuni

Aisha Lawal played the role of one of Alaafin Ademuyiwa ‘s Queen, but her name wasn’t mentioned. The presence of the youngest Queen Arokale often irritates her and she often uses her barrenness to insult her. She restricted all her daughters not to stay near Queen Arolake or run an errand for her. This queen poisoned Arolake because she was the queen’s favorite.
Aisha Lawal Oladuni is a Nigerian Writer, award-winning Yoruba actress, movie producer, caterer, and interior decorator. She was born in Oyo state on the 31st of May. She earned her first degree in LLB law at Lead City University in Ibadan, Oyo State. From the same University, she earned a second degree in Public Administration.
